The Collection of Bryophites of Natural History Museum was established in 1998. Presently it counts over 400 exhibits respectively around 150 species of bryophites mainly collected on the territory of Montenegro (canyon of the Mrtvica River, the Morača and the Tara Rivers, Durmitor, Sinjavina, partly the surrounding of Skadar Lake. Podgorica…). The collection consists of donation by Prof. Vukić Pulević, PhD - some hundred exhibits (collected by the end of sixties in various coastal and mountainous parts of Montenegro). Croatian bryologist Zlatko Pavletić determined these exhibits.
Mr Snežana DRAGIĆEVIĆ
I was born in Mojkovac, on 30 September 1972. In September 1996 I graduated from the Faculty of Science in Podgorica, Department of Biology. In the same year I was admitted to postgraduate studies on Biological Faculty in Belgrade, Chair Systematic and Phylogeny of Plants and Fungi; I decided to study moss’ flora (Bryophyta). On 14 July 2001 I obtained the title of master of biological sciences having defended the paper “Flora of Moss of the Mrtvica Canyon”. Since July 1998 I have worked in Natural History Museum as a curator in The Collection of Mosses. Besides, I have been engaged several times by the University of Montenegro, Department of Biology, as an associate for the subject Plant Physiology. I also was a coordinator of the project “Investigations of Quality Conditions of High Mountains’ Lakes of Montenegro” (1996), implemented by the Association of Young Ecologists of Montenegro, as well as one of organizers of several eco-schools in Žabljak. I am also involved in project “Biodiversity of Montenegro”, of Republican Institute for Nature Protection in Podgorica, monitoring the status of rare, endemic and endangered moss species in Montenegro.
