The collection consists of stuffed exhibits of big mammals like: Canis lupus (wolf), Ursus arctos (brown bear), Vulpes vulpes (fox), Meles meles (badger), Martes foina (beech marten), Martes martes (gold marten) and Sciurus vulgaris (squirrel). In addition to these, the Museum has exhibits, mainly “inherited” material from one time’s Naturalist Collection, which does not have the supporting museological documents.

In the collection there are also the representatives of small mammals, the collection of which was initiated by establishment of the Museum. Presently, it contains the representatives of Chiroptera (bats): Myotis myotis, M. nattereri, M. capaccinii, Pipistrellus kuhlii, as well as some representatives of Muridae (mice): Apodemus sylvaticus, A. mystacinus, Mus musculus.

ČEDA IVANOVIĆ

I was born in 1967 in Podgorica, Montenegro, where I completed elementary and secondary education. I graduated from Agricultural Faculty in Sarajevo. Admitted to postgraduate studies on Biological Faculty in Belgrade - Department for Taxonomy, Morphology and Systematic of Animals. Since 1996 I have worked in Natural History Museum of Montenegro in Podgorica as a curator in The Collection of Mammals. I am a president of the NGO "Society for Animal World Protection".
