curator Vera Biberdžić
Skadar Lake
Investigations of algae and water plants (macrophytes) and work in The Algologic Collection of Natural History Museum of Montenegro started in 1997. The material has been collected from the following terrains: The Mrtvica River Canyon, the Mareza, Vrela Ribnička, Skadar Lake, the Rijeka Crnojevića River, the Plavnica, the Morača, Ulcinj, Vučje and Krnovo, Boka Kotorska Bay, Biogradska gora. Collected material is in the stage of treatment, where almost all macrophytes have been determined to the level of species (around 60 species), whereas the algae have not been sufficiently taxonomically treated.
