THE NUTRIENTS IN THE RIVER ZETA

S y n o p s i s

In the work, the results of dominant nutrients (N, P) and limiting quality indicators are given, by localities, for the River Zeta for the period between 1996 and 2004. Those data illustrate an accelerated eutrofication of the river during the recent years. At some localities, the process of succession, replacement of water ecosystem with terrestrial one, has been caused during the summer months. With the data analysis, supported by statistical programs, it has been assessed that the cause of these processes is not only continued, uncontrolled discharge of waste waters enriched with organic burden indirectly or directly into the Zeta River drainage basin, but also an uncontrolled usage of artificial fertilizers. Such a statement is also indicated by the values of limiting quality indicators of the River Zeta.

NUTRIJENTI U RIJECI ZETI

U radu su iznijeti rezultati dominantnih nutrijenata (N,P ) i limitirajućih pokazatelja kvaliteta, po lokalitetima u periodu od 1996 do 2004 godine za rijeku Zetu. Ti podaci ilustruju ubrzanu eutrofikaciju rijeke zadnjih godina. Na nekim lokalitetima izazvan je proces sukcesije, smjene vodenog ekosistema suvozemnim, tokom ljetnjih mjeseci. Analizom podataka, uz podršku  statističkih programa, ocijenjeno je da uzrok ovim procesima nije samo kontinuirano, nekontrolisano, puštanje otpadnih voda obogaćenih organskim teretom indirektno ili direktno u sliv Zete, već i nekontrolisana upotreba vještačkih đubriva. Na ovakvu tvrdnju upućuju i vrijednosti limitirajućih pokazatelja kvaliteta vode rijeke Zete.
