CHARACTERISTICS OF OLD TOMATO CULTIVARS

Synopsis

  Old tomato cultivars and populations are still grown in gardens and farmsteads due to their specific characteristics, most notably their fruit quality and shape. Most of the genotypes are highly adaptable and are maintained in the collection of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad because of their high quality and other characteristics. They can be used as sources of variability in tomato breeding.

S i n o p s i s

KARAKTERISTIKE STARIH SORATA PARADAJZA

  Stare sorte i populacije paradajza još uvek se gaje u baštama i na okućnicama, zbog specifičnih osobina, a pre svega kvaliteta i oblika ploda. Većina genotipova poseduje visoku adaptibilnost, a zbog dobrog kvaliteta ploda i drugih osobina radi se na njihovom očuvanju u kolekciji Instituta za ratarstvo i povrtarstvo u Novom Sadu. Ovi genotipovi se mogu koristiti kao izvori varijabilnosti u procesu oplemenjivanja paradajza.
