Young seedlings of Pinus peuce Griseb. were obtained in laboratory from the seed harvested in two successive years at mountain Mučanj, Serbia. One portion of the seed was sowed in wet sand without presowing treatement. The other portion of seed was sowed in the containers consisting of the mixture of soil, peat and sand, after the standard presowing wet-cold treatement. Young seedlings (3-weeks old) which were grown in wet sand obtained  50% better results in length of epicotyle and 30% better results in length of cotyledons than those grown in soil mixture. There were no significant differences between treatements of sowing in other characteristics of seedlings (hypocotile length, hypocotile width, number of cotyledons and width of cotyledons). Differences between seedlings according to age of seed and individual trees were also discussed.

Key words: young seedlings, Pinus peuce Griseb., epicotyle,  hypocotile, cotyledons,  morphology

VARIJABILNOST KLIJAVACA MOLIKE
