DIVERGENCE OF ALFALFA CULTIVARS DEPENDING ON GEOGRAPHIC ORIGIN

S y n o p s i s

Forty divergent genotypes from 7 different regions (Serbia, Greece, Ukraine, France, Iran, Estonia and Bolivia) were analyzed in this study. Their dry matter yields differed significantly in dependence of their geographic origin. The differences in performance observed among the cultivars of the same origin indicated the presence of genetic divergence among them. The domestic cultivar NS Banat ZMS II was the best performer Domestic cultivars (especially NS Banat ZMS II) and populations derived from them remain the basis of the alfalfa breeding program. Of the foreign cultivars, those from Greece (Dolichi, Pella and Hyliki), Iran (Hamadany and Ghareh Yon Geh), the Czech Republic (Zuzana and Jarka) and France (Milfeuil) deserve to be included in the breeding program for improved yield performance.

 DIVERGENCIJA IZMEĐU SORTI ALFAALFA RAZLIČITOG GEOGRAFSKOG PORIJEKLA

Sinopsis

U ovoj studiji podvrgnuto je analizi četrdeset različitih genotipova alfaalfa-e iz sedam različitih regiona (Srbija, Grčka, Ukrajina, Francuska, Iran, Estonija i Bolivija). Proizvod suve tvari kod njih značajno se razlikovao u zavisnosti od njihovog geografskog porijekla. Razlike u performansama koje su primijećene među sortama istog porijekla ukazale su na genetsku divergenciju među njima. Domaće sorte (naročito NS Banat ZMS II) i populacije dobijene od njih ostaju osnova programa alfalfa uzgoja. Od stranih sorti, one iz Grčke (Dolichi, Pella i Hyliki), Irana (Hamadany i Ghareh Yon Geh), Češke (Zuzana i Jarka) i Francuske (Milfeuil) zaslužuju da budu uključene u program uzgoja za poboljšanje rezultata proizvoda.
