Two species of water mites (Acari, Actinedida): Hydrodroma pilosa (Besseling, 1940) and Neumania agilis Koenike, 1916 are reported new for the fauna of Balkan. The species: Atractides pygmaeus (Motas & Tanasachi, 1948) and Atractides orghidani Motas & Tanasachi, 1960 are reported new for the Mediterranean region. The most interesting is the finding of Atractides orghidani Motas & Tanasachi, 1960 from one spring near Podgorica (Montenegro, Yugoslavia), a species hitherto only recorded from Transilvania (Romania).

Key words: Acari, water mites, new species, Balkan, Mediterranean.
