PALEOZOOLOGICAL COLLECTION
curator Mr Goran Ćulafić

1. Aplosmilia grandicosta Krk., Upper-Jurassic coral, sintype; Rumija

2. Rhipidogyra meandra Krk., Upper-Jurassic coral, holotype; Rumija

Paleozoological collection of Natural History Museum is in the stage of creation. Presently it counts around 200 inventory units, as well as plenty of paleontological material inherited from the Collection of Institute for Nature Protection, which is mainly either not determined or is insufficiently determined. Among the most valuable paleozoological material there are 5 holotypes of Upper-Jurassic corals from northern slopes of Mountain Rumija.

Mr GORAN ĆULAFIĆ

I was born in Plav in 1961. Graduated from Mining-Geological Faculty of University in Belgrade, Geological Department, Group for Regional Biology and Paleontology. From 1991 to 1999 I dealt with research and exploitation of coal. I have worked in Natural History Museum of Montenegro since 1999 as a curator in Paleozoological Collection. Being the only geologist in the Museum, I also collect material for the needs of other geological collections (paleobotanical, mineralogical and petrologic ones).
